This ROS Legacy beginner guide covers the first session only: install from the operator Windows or Android link, create a Mirae Labs account, pick SOLO, DUO, or SQUAD, then drop with up to 99 other players onto a shrinking island. The official site does not publish system requirements or a named current zone list, so the advice stays on the published match loop: loot, rotate with the storm, and survive. If you still need the files, open Download or Mobile before you queue.
1. Install the operator build
Windows zip from dl.roslegacy.net/full or Android APK from dl.roslegacy.net/android/apk.
2. Create the Mirae Labs ID
Use Register. Username 3–12 alphanumeric, strong password, birthdate.
3. Pick SOLO, DUO, or SQUAD
SOLO is one survivor. DUO is a pair. SQUAD is a full team. All three are listed on roslegacy.net.
4. Drop, loot, rotate
Land, find a gun, watch the storm, and fight until one survivor or squad remains.

How a match works
Official copy describes a 100-player drop onto a shrinking battleground. You leave the plane, loot weapons and gear, and rotate as the storm closes. The last survivor or last squad wins. That is the whole published loop. There is no official named map roster on roslegacy.net, so this guide does not reprint old zone names from a withdrawn host.
SOLO is one drop, one survivor, no backup. DUO is a pair that covers each other through fights. SQUAD is built for full tactical control. Pick the mode that matches how many friends actually launched the client. Ranked seasons with a resetting leaderboard are listed as a feature; the public site does not print the current season number here.
A dedicated anti-cheat is mentioned without a product name. Play on the operator client. Do not install "smooth aim" APKs from the same people who resell Discord nitro. After a few drops, the FAQ covers account and iOS questions, and Community is the official Discord if you want a squad.
On the plane, watch the path and pick a building cluster you can loot before the first fight. In SOLO, avoid hot drops until you know the guns. In DUO and SQUAD, land together; a split squad in Open Beta usually dies in third parties, not in the storm.
The storm is the published rotation rule. If you win a fight and then die outside the zone, that is still a storm death. Keep a path in mind before you commit to a compound. Healing items are part of loot; the official copy does not print exact med kit names, so use whatever heals you find.
Dying in the first two minutes usually means you landed on too many people or you left the plane late and looted nothing. Next round, land earlier on a quieter roof, grab any gun, and move toward the storm rather than chasing a distant shot. That single habit will carry a new account farther than a copied sensitivity code.
Sound matters more than a copied HUD. Footsteps in a stairwell beat a long-range peek you cannot win yet. Play the first ten SOLO drops as listening drills: land, loot one building, rotate early, and notice where you die. That is the whole skill the official loop asks of a new account.
The first-session desk is finished when you have died at least once on purpose and queued again. Open Beta is a bad place to hunt a 20-kill montage on day one. Hunt a second drop. Hunt a third. Learn whether you die to players, to the storm, or to having no gun. Each of those deaths has a different fix: land quieter, rotate earlier, or loot faster. The official loop does not grade you on highlight reels. It grades you on still standing when the island is small.
If you queue SQUAD without a mic, say so in Discord before the plane. Silent fills still work in Open Beta, but they die faster when nobody calls the storm.
What the official site does not print
roslegacy.net does not list minimum CPU, GPU, RAM, or storage beyond the live package sizes. The Windows zip is about 8.25 GB; the Android APK is about 103.5 MB. If your PC cannot unpack an 8 GB archive, use Android instead of guessing a spec sheet. iOS remains Coming Soon.
Former marketing pages on ros.mythgames.net named zones. That host no longer resolves, so those names are not treated as the current map. Land where the plane path and loot density look useful, then rotate with the storm. If Mirae Labs publishes a zone list later, it will belong on a future revision of this guide.

Sensitivity, keybinds, and gyroscope are client settings, not wiki tables. Change them in the pause menu after the first death, not in a random .ini from Discord. If the client offers a tutorial, run it once, then queue SOLO to learn peeks without blaming a random teammate.
When you are ready for people, use the official Discord rather than a Facebook comment thread. Bring the same Mirae Labs username so squad invites match. Then come back to Download or Mobile only if a new operator filename appears.
Do not expect a published drop-rate table, a vehicle list, or a healing cookbook on roslegacy.net. Those pages are what thin wikis invent. This guide stops at the loop Mirae Labs actually printed: 100 players, three modes, shrinking storm, ranked seasons named but not calendared, anti-cheat named as a feature but not as a product.
A first session that works is short. Install. Register. Pick SOLO if you are alone. Land on a roof with two buildings, not on a town name you remember from 2018. Loot a gun and a backpack if you see one. Move when the storm tells you to move. Die, queue again, and only then add friends in DUO or SQUAD. Ranked can wait until you can finish a circle without burning all your healing on the walk in. Anti-cheat can wait in the sense that you should not try to disable it. This beginner guide ends there because the official site ends there. Extra maps, extra guns, extra drop percentages would be invented pages, and invented pages are how people install the wrong client.
After five drops you will want a map name. The official site still does not print one. Keep using the plane path and the storm. Named zones from a dead host are not a current roster. When Mirae Labs prints names, they can join this guide. Until then, land, loot, rotate.
